When Performance Foodservice-Hale considers strong relationships with its customers, Justin’s Restaurant in Morristown, Tennessee stands in the forefront. Proprietor, Gene Brooks, along with his wife, Kelly, have provided casual family dining with a flair to the area for almost 25 years. During that time, they have seen the foodservice industry evolve and change as much as anyone. Being creative and willing to try new things, as well as working daily in their business has insured their long term success.
Extensive Selection
Specialties at Justin’s include fried chicken tenders and homemade cream of potato soup garnished with shredded cheddar cheese and bacon bits. Justin’s is also famous for the warm homemade, pecan filled brownies, baked daily and topped with vanilla ice cream. These offerings have been featured annually for the past twelve years at the Girls, Inc. “A Taste of Morristown” where every year since the beginning, Justin’s has received the blue ribbon in its category!
Other features on the Justin’s menu include the 8 oz sirloin steak which is hand cut in the meat room of Performance Foodservice-Hale. The El Paso Platter consisting of a hand patted angus beef patty topped with barbecue sauce and shredded jack and cheddar cheeses is another favorite. Salads are popular and diners can choose from homemade Chicken Salad, Taco Salad, Chef Salad and Chicken Caesar salad. Accompanying these are homemade dressings which are also available for purchase to take home.
Staying Customer Focused
At one time, the only trendy casual dining restaurant in town, Justin’s has over the years seen its market flooded with chain restaurants. In order to remain competitive, Justin’s has focused on cultivating families and seniors while maintaining its high standards of quality. Innovations have included establishing daily senior’s discounts from 11:00 AM until closing and providing a blue plate special value menu of country cooking.
A few years ago, Justin’s built a recreation facility on its property and is able to handle birthday parties and other special events for young people. A karaoke café is being planned to open this fall to provide a safe and fun place for teenagers to meet. In addition, live music is planned and concerts will be held there from time to time.

From its beginning Justin’s was a Hale Brothers customer. Over the years Gene has seen our company change into PFG-Hale and now Performance Foodservice-Hale. During this time he has worked with only three different sales reps from our company. Presently, John Dalton, a thirteen year veteran of the Hale sales force, maintains the relationship as trusted advisor. Both John and Gene are committed to our relationship and maintain that it has been mutually beneficial for both Justin’s and Performance Foodservice-Hale.
We look forward to meeting the challenges together in the years to come and believe that by keeping in mind what is best for Justin’s and its customers for each new opportunity, we will have continued success and growth.
