Performance Foodservice-NorthCenter Implements New Green Initiative

Augusta, Maine (November 3, 2009)
PERFORMANCE Foodservice – NorthCenter announced an initiative to advance the cause of environmental sustainability with the purchase of wind power. PERFORMANCE Foodservice – NorthCenter purchases renewable energy to match 100% of their electricity from conventional energy sources for their Augusta, Maine location.

A leading mid-Atlantic retailer of renewable energy will supply PERFORMANCE Foodservice – NorthCenter with wind power. The purchase displaces 2,014 metric tons of carbon emissions. The environmental benefit is equivalent to removing over 369 passenger vehicles off the road for an entire year or recycling 695 tons of waste.
